![]() ![]() Keep the oil changed on a good regular interval and don't run it low. Be nice to that 350x engine, particularly the cylinder head. If a valve adjustment doesn't quiet things down, then it is time to start looking for worn/damaged valve-train components. Valve clearance is relatively easy to do, costs nothing and is the most likely cause of your noisy valve-train. I would definitely check your valve clearances first before jumping right to a cam chain issue. But I am just one man so keep that in mind. In my experience the Honda cam chain tensioners are very reliable, I have never experienced a failure with one. A couple of possible reasons for a noisy cam chain are a defective/broken tensioner, or a chain that is stretched out of spec beyond the tensioner's ability to keep it tight. This 1985 Honda ATC350X is powered by a 350cc four-stroke single paired with a six-speed transmission and finished in red and white. The cam chain tensioner on the 350x is automatic. Features include a blue solo seat, electronic ignition, an oil cooler, a grab bar, an adjustable rear monoshock, a kickstarter, a compression release valve, a taillight, twin headlights, front and rear disc brakes, and two skid plates. The ATV was acquired by the seller in 1994, and service in 2022 is said to have included overhauling the brakes, powder-coating frame ancillaries, changing the oil, and replacing the master cylinders, stainless-steel braided brake lines, foam air filter, sprockets, and drive chain. This 350X is now offered at no reserve in Iowa with a bill of sale. The three-wheeler is finished in red and white over a red tubular frame. Equipment includes a blue solo seat with 350X graphics as well as a 2.6-gallon fuel tank, a front skid plate, a taillight, twin headlights, air scoops on the fuel tank, and a frame-mounted toolbox beneath the left fender. The foot pegs and brackets, rear skid plate, lower frame mount, heat shield, and front sprocket cover were reportedly powder-coated in black by the seller. Blemishes include a broken rear fender guard, a tear in the seat, a cracked tool case, scratches on the paint and plastic bodywork, and corrosion on the left side of the fuel tank. The seller notes that the taillight bulb is out. Multi-piece wheels are wrapped in 23.5×8.00-11″ front and 22×10.00-9″ rear Ohtsu H-Trak Pro Vector tires. The seller reports that the tires have not been replaced under current ownership and are in need of replacement. Suspension consists of a leading-axle fork with blue gaiters as well as a box-section swingarm connected to a gas-charged monoshock with a remote reservoir that features four-way adjustable rebound damping. ![]() The seller notes stiction on the forks and a lack of brake power.īraking is from single discs at both ends that were overhauled and fitted with replacement front and rear master cylinders, pads, and stainless-steel braided hoses. ![]() The black handlebar sits atop a four-bolt forged-aluminum triple clamp and is equipped with a thumb-operated throttle lever, clutch and brake controls, and left-side-mounted on/off switches for the ignition and lights. No odometer or other instrumentation was equipped from the factory, therefore true mileage is unknown. The air-cooled 350cc four-stroke OHC single was factory rated at 27 horsepower and 22 lb-ft of torque and features a four-valve cylinder head, electronic ignition, an automatic cam-chain tensioner, a kickstarter, an automatic compression release valve, an oil cooler, and a high-mounted exhaust system that exits under the rear bodywork. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a replacement drive chain. The seller notes that the front and rear sprockets were replaced in 2022.
